Transfer Station Fees

Garbage must be in clear bags otherwise it will not be accepted.

Household Garbage $3.00 per bag
Household Garbage - unsorted or over 10% recycling $8.00 per bag

Appliances containing Freon - refrigerator, air conditioners, dehumidifier $35.00 per item
Large Appliances - dishwashers, washer, bathtub, dryer, stove, appliances - freon removed, etc. $10.00 per item
Small Appliances - sinks and toilets ("porcelain") $10.00 per item
Small Furniture - chairs, side/coffee tables, etc. $10.00 per item
Large Furniture - couch, kitchen/dinign table, loveseat, etc. $20.00 per item
Mattress, Boxspring $25.00 all sizes per unit
Carpet, Throw/area rug $5.00 per item

The Transfer Station has a number of options for disposal of items you no longer require.

The Drummond Line Transfer Station now offers a Quantum Lifecycle Partners bin (Quantum) .

The Quantum recycling program accepts all electronic and electrical items from floor model televisions to cell phones to coffee makers.

The Quantum program cannot accept:

  • Air conditioners
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Fridges/freezers
  • Water coolers
  • Gas powered devices

Please note these items will still be accepted as landfill, disposal fees will apply.

A green waste bin is located at the Transfer Station.

Acceptable items include:

  • brush
  • branches
  • hedge and tree trimmings
  • house and garden plants
  • grass clippings and leaves
  • Christmas trees with decorations removed

No tipping fees charged.

A metal product bin is located at the Transfer Station.

Only metal products can be left in the bin.

Please check with the attendant for a list of acceptable items.   

A textile bin is located at the Transfer Station. 

Acceptable items include:

  • clothing
  • bedding
  • towels

All items must be in reusable condition.

Instead of placing your unwanted items in the disposal bins, the lower section of the Transfer Station has an area dedicated for reuse items.

All items must be clean and in good reusable condition.

Some items will require a tipping fee.

Acceptable items include:

  • upholstered furniture
  • mattresses
  • working appliances
  • wood furniture
  • desks
  • dressers
  • tables
  • chairs
  • windows
  • doors

If you have an item not listed above, please check with the attendant.

Placing items in the section helps the environment by not adding to landfill and allows another person to make use out of your unwanted item. 

There is no charge for collecting items from this section.
