The 2026 Municipal Election will take place on October 26, 2026.

Half Load Restrictions - 2026

Half-load restrictions in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan will begin on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
To protect our road network during the spring thaw, half-load restrictions are implemented annually beginning March 1, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. These measures help prevent road damage when municipal roads are most vulnerable to heavy vehicle traffic.
During this period, vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle, and truck and commercial transport access may be restricted in affected areas.
Restrictions will remain in effect until April 30, 2026, unless otherwise announced.

Wall of Honour Nominations

Residents are invited to help celebrate outstanding community members as the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan opens nominations for the Dave Nelson Wall of Honour.

This annual recognition highlights individuals who have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the community through leadership, service, innovation, or achievements that bring pride to the Township. One honouree will be selected each year and permanently recognized on the Wall of Honour.

The program aims to acknowledge those whose dedication has helped shape Otonabee-South Monaghan into a stronger, more vibrant place to live, work, and grow. Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals whose contributions deserve to be celebrated and remembered.

Nominations are open now, and residents can submit their entries by completing the official nomination process available online.Deadline: June 30, 2026
