Road Closure Notice - Blezard Line

Public Works has closed Blezard Line between Highway 7 and Division Road due to flooding. The last property accessible from the north is 2594 Blezard Line, and the last property accessible from the south is 2385 Blezard Line.

The road will remain closed until further notice while water levels recede and the roadway can be safely reopened.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. Updates will be provided as conditions change.

Half Load Restrictions - 2026

Half-load restrictions in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan will begin on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
To protect our road network during the spring thaw, half-load restrictions are implemented annually beginning March 1, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. These measures help prevent road damage when municipal roads are most vulnerable to heavy vehicle traffic.
During this period, vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle, and truck and commercial transport access may be restricted in affected areas.
Restrictions will remain in effect until April 30, 2026, unless otherwise announced.

Volunteer Opportunity - Wall of Honour Committee Members

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan is currently accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the Wall of Honour Selection Committee for the current term of Council.

This Committee plays an important role in evaluating nominations and recommending individuals who have made outstanding contributions to our community.

Qualified applicants are asked to complete the Wall of Honour Selection Committee Application and submit an application outlining qualifications and related experience to the Clerk’s Department by email to deputy_clerk@osmtownship.ca, no later than 4:30 pm on March 31st, 2026

PETERBOROUGH, ON – March 11, 2026 – Parks Canada invites members of the public to participate in upcoming Public Information Sessions regarding infrastructure projects taking place in Peterborough along the Trent–Severn Waterway National Historic Site.

Contractors are on site, and in the coming weeks, work will begin on coordinated, multi-year infrastructure projects in Peterborough that include the rehabilitation of the Peterborough Earth Dams, repairs and maintenance of the Peterborough Lift Lock, and the replacement of the Maria Street Swing Bridge. The Public Information Sessions will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about the projects, including construction phases, timelines, anticipated impacts, planned mitigation measures, and the long-term benefits the projects will deliver to the community. For the convenience of the public, two sessions will be offered: one in person and one virtual, with identical project information presented at both. Parks Canada representatives will be available to answer questions.
