Notice of Road Construction beginning May 4, 2026

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan and its contractor Drain Bros. will be commencing construction activities on Matchett Line (from Wallace Point Road to Willow Road) and Mahood Road (from Matchett Line to Wallace Point Road).

Project Details: The project will start with the removal of some trees within the municipal road allowance, followed by ditching and drainage work. Once this is complete, the existing road will be graded, geotextile installed and base aggregate added. This will be followed by the application of the new asphalt road surface.

When: Work is expected to begin on May 4, 2026 with an approximate completion date of July 31, 2026.

Traffic Impact: Traffic on these roads may be impacted and lane closures can be expected. Full road closures (local traffic only) may be necessary but will be temporary, (1 day maximum).

Alternate Route: Residents and visitors can use alternate routes via Driscoll Road and Wallace Point Road. Traffic impact will depend on where the work is taking place however, OSM Township and Drain Bros Construction will ensure traffic disruptions are kept to a minimum.
