Notice of Road Construction - Base Line

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan will be commencing construction activities on Base Line (from Drummond Line to Crowley Line) as of June 3^rd, 2024 – September 20^th, 2024 (approx.)

Project Details: Ditching, some culvert replacements/repair and road resurfacing.  Once the ditching and culvert works are complete the road will be re-gravelled, graded and then a double surface treatment will be applied.

Traffic Impact:  Traffic on this portion of Base Line will be impacted and lane closures can be expected.  Full road closures (local traffic only) may be necessary but will be temporary, (1 day maximum). 

Alternate Routes:  Alternate east/west routes include County Road 2, Assumption, Redmond Road, and Dillon Road.  Access to this section of Base Line from intersecting roads (Drummond Line, Hiawatha Line, Keene Road and Crowley Line) may be impacted however, these impacts will be limited to allow access from one or more of these routes at all times.

Note: Prior to any entrance culverts being replaced or reset, roads department staff will be directly communicating with the homeowners to ensure that they can get their vehicles out of the driveway without delay.
