Notice of Road Resurfacing - Villiers Line

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, and its’ contractor, Miller Paving will begin road resurfacing work (top-coating) on Villiers Line.

Start Date: May 25, 2026

Expected Completion: June 8, 2026

Traffic Impacts: Lane restrictions may occur, and minor traffic delays are expected during construction hours.

Notice of Road Resurfacing - Third Line

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, and its contractor, Miller Paving will begin road resurfacing work (top-coating) on: Third Line, between County Road 28 and County Road 2

Start Date: June 1, 2026

Expected Completion: June 15, 2026

Traffic Impacts: Lane restrictions may occur, and minor traffic delays are expected during construction hours.

Notice of Construction - Matchett Line and Mahood Road

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan and its contractor Drain Bros. will be commencing construction activities on Matchett Line (from Wallace Point Road to Willow Road) and Mahood Road (from Matchett Line to Wallace Point Road).

Project Details: The project will start with the removal of some trees within the municipal road allowance, followed by ditching and drainage work.  Once this is complete, the existing road will be graded, geotextile installed and base aggregate added. This will be followed by the application of the new asphalt road surface. 

When: Work is expected to begin on May 4, 2026 and be completed by July 31, 2026.

Traffic Impact: Traffic on these roads will be impacted, and lane closures can be expected.  Full road closures (local traffic only) may be necessary but will be temporary, (1 day maximum).

Alternate Route: Residents and visitors can use alternate routes via Driscoll Road and Wallace Point Road.  Traffic impact will depend on where the work is taking place however, OSM Township and Drain Bros Construction will ensure traffic disruptions are kept to a minimum.

Notice of Ditching - Providence Line and Elmhirst Road

The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township and contractor Drain Dros. will begin ditching work this spring/summer at the following locations:

Providence Line

Project Details: The road will be ditched on both sides from Drummond Line to Highway 7

  • Start Date: June 1, 2026
  • Expected Completion: July 31, 2026

Elmhirst Road

Project Details: The road will be ditched on both sides from Settlers Line to Cameron Line

  • Start Date: June 15, 2026
  • Expected Completion: August 14, 2026

Traffic Impacts: Traffic on this road will be impacted and lane closures may be necessary. Full road closures (local traffic only) may be necessary but will be temporary, (1 day maximum).

Ditching Material: Any land owners looking for fill can contact the Public Works Department.
