There are two Municipal Drinking Water Systems in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan: Elgeti-Crystal Springs in Stewart Hall and Keene Heights in Keene. The Township owns the water systems and the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) operates them.
There is a total of 144 service connections for the water systems in OSM. There are 107 service connections in the Elgeti-Crystal Springs system and 37 service connections in the Keene Heights system.
To pay for the operating and ongoing maintenance and capital costs, the water users pay a flat annual water rate that is included in their tax bill. The Township has installed water meters and metered water rates may be considered in the future.
Burnham Meadows
Residents in Burnham Meadows have a water system maintained and owned by the Peterborough Utilities Group. For more information, contact them by phone at 705-748-9300.

For residents on the Elgeti Crystal Springs or Keene Heights water system, if you have concerns about your water (e.g. low pressure, no water, etc.), please call:

Source Water Protection
Source Water Protection is mandatory under the Clean Water Act. The Township is part of the Otonabee-Peterborough Source Protection Authority, which is part of the Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Region.
