Household hazardous waste does not belong in garbage or blue box recycling. Hazardous waste contains toxins that are very harmful to human and environmental health.
When hazardous waste is not properly disposed of, it poses serious risk to waste and recycling collection workers and can cause severe injuries.
Hazardous waste can be taken to the Transfer Station at 1594 Drummond Line, Keene or the Pido Road Depot at 400 Pido Road, Peterborough. Both of these locations are open year round.
Check the hazardous waste depots within the County of Peterborough.
Please store all materials in their original containers and store in a cool dry place until you can bring them to us. We can only accept household material in containers up to 20L/5gal.
