 Welcome to the Planning Department.  This Department is responsible for applications under the Planning Act.  This includes applications for Minor Variance, Zoning Amendments and Official Plan Amendments.

Applications for consents/severances can be found on this page as well.  The approval authority for consents/severances is the County of Peterborough, with the municipality acting as a commenting agency.

Zoning Compliance  Requests

The fee for a Tax Certificate is $30.00; the fee for a zoning request is $30.00 and the fee for a survey compliance is also $30.00  Mail  your payment with a written request  to the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan, PO Box 70, 20 Third Street, Keene Ontario K0L 2G0.  Please note that we do not respond to a faxed request.

• What is the fee for a zoning amendment?
  $750.00
• Where can I obtain a zoning application form?
  You can obtain a form at the municipal office at 20 Third Street, Keene during regular business hours or at this link  - Zoning Amendment Application (PDF)
• What is a consent?
  A consent is another term for a land severance. 
• Does ORCA charge a fee for review of planning applications?
  ORCA does charge a fee which is applied at the severance (consent) stage; or if no severance is applicable - is charged at the time of review for a variety of planning applications.  A copy of the ORCA fee schedule is listed in the documents shown above.
• Do you provide verbal information related to zoning, OP designation and permitted land uses to realtors or property appraisers?
  The information is provided in writing only, after receiving a request in writing from the realtor and/or appraiser.  Effective April 1, 2010 the request for information will be considered a zoning compliance request and a charge of $30.00 will be levied and must be paid before the information is released.
